Wildehurst Wines Chris and Joanne Hurst’s garden-vineyard in Koringberg with its well-equipped  micro winery, produces mostly Mediterranean-style blends of rich Swartland character. Grapes are sourced from their own vineyard as well as from selected sites on the slopes of the Piketberg and Paardeberg mountains.

Wildehurst Chenin Blanc 2011 – R145

Fruit harvested from 30 year old bush vines. Natural, slow 2 month fermentation until dry in 3rd fill barrels. Matured on the lees for a further 5 months. Grapefruit and lemony tones on the nose are followed through with a sweet minerally backbone and pineapple flavours. Wildehurst Rosé 2012 – R195

40% Grenache, 33% Shiraz, 22% Mourvèdre, 5% Chenin Blanc Natural slow fermentation in 3rd fill barrels. Matured on the lees for a further 6 months. Penetrating strawbwerry fruit fragrance on the nose off-set by floral notes. Bone dry, full bodied and succulently fruity. VeloRed 2011 – R135

50% Grenache, 40% Shiraz, 10% Viognier A Mid summers dream of ripe cherry and forest berry’s with a hint of perfume. Wildehurst Red 2009 – R245

62% Shiraz, 33% Mourvèdre, 5% Viognier After vinification  the components were individually barrel matured for 12 months before blending. The blend was then returned to barrel for a further 6 months resulting in a well structured unpretentious  wine. Dark berry hues and spicy white pepper intermingle with  characteristic Swartland floral aroma’s. In the mouth the wine is fresh with a young richness and distinctive stony minerality.
